নিজকল্পা ইবনে বতুতার গ্রাম। এ গ্রামের কেউ মরছে না, কিছুই মরছে না। দুনিয়ার সকল গ্রাম ঘুরে ইবনে বতুতা ফিরে এসেছে নিজের গ্রাম নিজকল্পায়। সে প্রতিদিন আবিষ্কার করছে নিজ গ্রামকে। এ গ্রামের ঐতিহাসিক দিদার ফকির তাকে চেনাচ্ছে এ গ্রাম। এ গ্রাম পৃথিবীর প্রথম গ্রাম। এ গ্রাম চিনলে পৃথিবীর সকল গ্রাম চেনা যাবে, পৃথিবীর সকল মানুষ চেনা যাবে। চেনা যাবে পৃথিবীর সকল চিন্তা, স্বপ্ন, সৌন্দর্য, দর্শন , রাজনীতি, অর্থনীতি, ইতিহাসনীতি, প্রত্ননীতি। এ গ্রামে কোনো মৃত্যু নাই। মানুষ মৃত্যুকে জয় করার জন্য যেসব প্যারালেল ওয়ার্ল্ড আবিষ্কার করেছে, ভ্রমণ আবিষ্কার করেছে, সেসব কথা আছে এই উপন্যাসে।
মানুষ অমরতা আবিষ্কার করেছে তার নানা চিন্তা, স্বপ্ন, আবিষ্কার আর ভ্রমণ দিয়ে। চিন্তা, স্বপ্ন, কল্পনার ভ্রমণের ঘোর-লাগা এ উপন্যাস। উপন্যাসের শুরু থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত একজন পাঠক থাকবে সে ঘোরের ভেতর। হয়তো এই প্রথমবার পাঠক আবিষ্কার করবে সবকিছুর অমরতা। এ উপন্যাস কোনো কালের নয়, সব কালের; কোনো একক মানুষের নয়, সব মানুষের। এ উপন্যাস পাঠে ভ্রমণ করা হবে পৃথিবীর সকল চিন্তা, দর্শন, রাজনীতি, অর্থনীতি, মানুষ, প্রকৃতি, স্বপ্ন, দুঃস্বপ্ন, প্রেম, অপ্রেম। উপন্যাস পাঠের পর যদি কেউ বলে, সব কাল এক কাল, সব স্থান এক স্থানÑতাকে ভুল প্রমাণ করার কেউ থাকবে না। তবে ভ্রমণে যাওয়া যেতে পারে অমর গ্রাম নিজকল্পায়, যা ইবনে বতুতার গ্রাম, আমাদের সবার গ্রাম।
